Meet Our Readers!

We just wrapped an unforgettable 2026 Creepy Retreat, and we’re already planning something even bigger for 2027. While we finalize our venue location in San Diego, CA, applications are officially open for authors who want

to be part of the experience.

Each year, readers and writers come together for a weekend of thrills, connection, and community and our Author Expo is at the heart of it. We invite a limited number of authors to showcase their books and meet hundreds of passionate readers face-to-face. Almost all of our authors sold out of their books in 2026, in addition to making hundreds of meaningful connections with our reader community.

All authors in the thriller, mystery, and true crime genres are welcome to apply.

Author Expo

  • 3 days of opportunities to meet readers outside scheduled event times

  • (1) 6ft table and (1) chair

  • (1) black linen

  • Space for 33in x 79in pop-up banner (author provided)

  • You are welcome to sell/sign copies of books at your table​

-Space for 33 X 79 pop up banner (author provided)

-You are welcome to sell books and sign copies (author facilitated)


You will need to:

-Secure power and internet with onsite AV team (order forms will be sent in advance).

-Ship materials to hotel no more than 3 days in advance, confirm shipping charges with hotel.

-Purchase an author expo ticket to attend social events.
