"Attending the creepy retreat as a debut thriller author, my goal was to network with other authors and readers in the genre. What I received was so much more. With a booth in the expo, I had dedicated one on one time with readers, giving them an opportunity to ask me questions, and I received over 100 preorders! I distributed over 50 ARCS to reviewers, which has helped so much with buzz and Goodreads reviews. I was able to meet so many other authors, including many I’ve been fans of for years, leading to collaborations, giveaways, and other opportunities to spread the word about our books.  Also, I had an absolute blast. Can’t wait to come back next year!!"

The Creepy Retreat Author Expo will be held on April 23 - 25, 2027 in San Diego, CA and author applications are

officially open.

 

Each year, readers and writers come together for a weekend of thrills, connection, and community and our Author Expo is at the heart of it. We invite a limited number of authors to showcase their books and meet hundreds of passionate readers face-to-face. Almost all of our authors sold out of their books in 2026, in addition to making hundreds of meaningful connections with our reader community.​

 

All authors in the thriller, mystery, and true crime genres are welcome to apply.
